By now you should all know that it is 2008. If you don’t, email me and I’ll tell you about what has happened so far. Amy and I will upload some photos from our Christmas and Ski trip in December, and maybe if you’re lucky we’ll write more.

For now, check out Mike Huckabee for President. He has some very solid values and is very real:

Catch you later,
James.

James and I have been busy as usual and like most others at this time of year. Running from here to there and trying to get everything done in time for Christmas. I just hope that in the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season, we don’t forget the reason of it all. Sometimes it gets hard to find time to just sit down and really think about why we celebrate Christmas, but once we do it puts everything else into perspective. I heard someone on TV the other day say that because they knew that God loved them it made them feel worthy. It’s completely the opposite for me. When I think that God sent his precious baby boy into the world to die for a bunch of greedy, hateful sinners like me, I feel like what I was before Christ saved me: scum. James and I have started thinking about when we might start a family, but when I think of what a mess of a world we’d be bringing a child into, I shudder. To think that God didn’t think twice about giving up his son for all of us. I couldn’t ever imagine giving up my child for the sake of another. I can’t even imagine giving my own life up for the sake of someone I don’t know or love. What a wonderful gift we’ve all been given. I hope that this stays in the front of our minds as we celebrate Christmas this year.

So I tried to upgrade Wordpress, the application this blog is running on, and everything went crazy, so I re-installed it on the web server and several things are still kinda messed up. Categories were lost and pictures unlinked, as well as wierd characters inserted into many of the posts or quotes. Most of the errors have been fixed, the important ones, so just excuse the messiness on some of the posts. We may just scrap it and start over. Again.
James.

Last night, James, Daniel, Jared, and I went to a Dodgers game. We got to see Barry Bonds play. Every time he went up to bat, everyone started booing. It was so funny. Then when he was playing in the outfield, a whole bunch of people were yelling that he stinks, which wasn’t very nice. I hate to say it, but he didn’t really play very well last night; he got tagged out, struck out, and at the end, walked. After getting walked he left the game and so did a bunch of people who came to see him break the world record for home runs hit. After everyone left was when the action really started! The Dodgers got two runs batted in in the bottom of the seventh, and then another two in the eighth. The Dodgers won 6 to 4! Yea Dodgers! We were all happy, except Jared who was a little disappointed to see the Giants lose. It was a really exciting game though, and we all had a great time.

James and I spent this past Saturday at the LA Zoo. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed seeing God’s beautiful creation. Some of the animals we saw looked so funny. A few times we said that you can tell God has a sense of humor. We saw lots of monkeys, as they were James’ favorite. Some of them were really enjoying showing off for their guests. We also saw lions and a tiger, and a bear… oh my! Although it was a very hot day, James and I had a really great time walking around the zoo.

After the zoo, James took me to the Griffith Observatory, which was totally cool. We had a really great view of the city from way up there. It was just a beautiful night. We even got to see Jupiter and it’s four moons through two different telescopes, which was really cool. We also had fun finding out how much we weigh on different planets. That was really funny. James weighed 300 pounds on Jupiter and I weighed only 10 on Pluto!

We were awed at how big God’s creation is, and it’s still expanding! It’s amazing that God could care so much for us and could take so much time to make each individual human different and could put so much creativity into each animal he made, and still create billions of stars, galaxies, and planets. Wow! All in all, we had a great day exploring the greatness of God’s creation.

Amy and I aren’t dead. And no we haven’t given up on blogging and let our faithful readers know what is going on with us! Here’s an update from me, since Amy says she has been writing most of the entries.
I do have a job now, if you didn’t know. I was hired on at ReelzChannel, a cable network all about movies, in early May. I am a part of the IT helpdesk there, where I troubleshoot and support issues people have with their computers, and I get to work with the network services guys on bigger issues. I drive into downtown Los Angeles everyday (1.5 hours in, 1 hour out) but may start taking the Metro train to save my sanity.
We have moved! Amy and I decided we wanted to be closer to Bakersfield (but just out of arm’s reach) but not too far from my work, so we found an apartment in Castaic. E-mail us and we can give you our new address and phone number. We moved out of La Habra with the help of our families last week and are excited about our new apartment (it’s a large 2-bedroom that fits us perfectly!) and are starting to meet our neighbors, some of who are Masters College grad students or faculty. We live close to the lake (and Interstate 5) and we love our air conditioning! God is so good and we are so excited for another part of our life. He has even provided Amy with a job opportunity and the potential to possible go back to school and finish her California public teaching credential. I’ll let her share that information, perhaps later when we post some pictures for you!
Well that is all for now. Perhaps we will both begin to write more often. Please comment or e-mail back - we love to hear from our friends and relatives and have not heard from many people for a long time.
Thanks!
James.

Here’s two new pages I just finished of our first Easter.

Okay, so my phone died today. When I try to call out or answer an incoming call, all anyone can hear is static. So, I took my phone to Verizon to try and get it fixed, but they were not able to fix it. Now, I have to wait for a new phone to be mailed to me before I can call anyone again.
If you’d like to talk to me, you’ll have to email or comment on the blog. Otherwise, I can call people from James’ phone in the evenings.
